Pass-It-4ward

‘share the love’

In 2009 my cousin Richard Blewett who was diagnosed earlier in the previous year with bowel cancer gave me a little money. I’d never had much contact with him but in his last summer on this earth, we managed to spend quite of bit of time getting to know each other, albeit belatedly.

We discovered we had much in common, a love of literature and knowledge, a healthily sceptical interest in politics and current affairs, and an uncannily similar knack of being a source of practical advice and support to friends, colleagues and acquaintances alike.

The following short poem was found after his death, hand written into his personal notebook:

“I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death.

They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make.

Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories, and we find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.”

I wanted to find a way of ‘investing’ Richard’s gift so as to ‘spread the love’ a bit further. Most of the money was donated to charity, but I also wanted to find a way of recording his memory as a ‘human helpmate’ as his many friends, colleagues were testament to.

Richard was surprised and pleased when I said that I would at any one time, coach-mentor 2 people free of charge… in his memory.

I am immensely grateful for the knowledge, wisdom and spiritual help I have received on my journey, and continue to receive in increasing amounts, so it makes eminent sense to PASS-IT-4WARD knowing that every act of goodness cascades and spreads cooperative effort and social wellbeing.

Gandhi was reported as saying “we need to be the change we wish to see in the world”, in other words to take personal responsibility to master and model change in ourselves first, and to aspire toward a heightened sense of positive purpose in our working and personal lives.

During 2009 I was pleased and honoured to support a number of individuals on this very informal initiative, from individuals wanting to review their situations and make awesomely life-changing decisions, to others wanting to review and improve their business, and career prospects. I am proud to say that many of them are improving the positive impact on their families, and communities.

There is NO formal process for ‘PASS-IT-4WARD’, and I’m only interested in hearing from individuals who:

  • have imaginative and committed ideas for how they’d ‘PASS-IT-4WARD’ with at least 3 others
  • can commit themselves to stick to two diarised distance coaching sessions with me
  • can express why they’d like to be considered for the initiative (I wonder what will really GRAB ME!?)

No time-wasters please.

I retain sole right to select, without ever having to justify my choice.

No names will be published on my website.
