I frequently find myself moving between the mentoring role when required (for instance: sometimes I’m asked my opinion on a client’s business idea, or asked for insights as the best way of developing a training programme, or advice about top chairing skills), and into the longer-term developmental coaching role (for instance: a client wants me to help them explore their performance and feelings as a keynote speaker and to learn / improve as a result of our confidential discussions, or a client needs to explore their own team leadership style in order to become more effective).
